During our Earth workshop the issue of people losing their connection to the land was addressed, especially when displaced, and the relationship between displacement and the environment. It presents case studies on using nature-based solutions in settlements for displaced communities. Three key drivers for implementing these solutions were identified: politics and rights, the environment itself, and the needs of displaced and host communities. The workshop concluded with questions and actions for further discussion regarding humanitarian and development work and the role of landscape architects.
